Hey!

I am Juan Santamaria, a photographer based in Melbourne, Australia, but before I tell you about: my experience, who I have worked with, how many years and what I’ve done…. blah blah blah.

I want to tell you who I really am; I am 28-years old , average height, neither too big nor too small, short hair, brown eyes, favourite color... hmmm green!!

I love to travel and learn about many cultures; I’m quiet and very selective with my friends. Something that identifies me is that I am very faithful and passionate, but not only with photography... but with life!

Eight years ago, this journey began… I was only 19 years old when I told my parents that what I wanted to study and what I wanted to dedicate time to was photography. My parents, super engineers and traditional family just looked at me and told me: son, are you sure? Why Don’t you do photography as only a hobby? (I’m sure we’ve all heard this many times.). I told them I want to take the risk and show you and myself that I can make it as a career... will it be difficult? Yes, but I always thought that with dedication and passion, everything is possible. Since then, they’ve seen my career flourish and support me with the direction I’ve taken.

About my history?

It was at that moment when it all started, a crazy roller coaster, knowing and learning more and more... I have to admit that I have gotten lost on this journey several times, I have been wrong and failed, but today I have learned more than ever.

And now I can proudly say that I'm a photographer who specialises in fashion and portrait, in love with the art of telling meaningful stories. I put my heart, time, and love into each project I develop. I want to create an entire experience with every thing that I do.

So, here is where I want to invite you to take your time and see my work. I clarify... my focus is fashion and portrait, but still I am also flexible that if you are interested in working with me doing product photography, nature, architecture, weddings, candid, corporate, travel etc… we will create something incredible together!
